Country Fisherman in Jackson

Had the catfish it’s great, chicken was good, was hoping for green beans and soup beans and mash potatoes but they didn’t have any of that. Service was 5 stars for sure! Super nice people here!

This is my second time coming food was great... but never have mac and cheese when I come... and can't tell me when will they will have it...

Good food

The food here is always great. Good home cooking type of food. The only gripe I have is that if I order a to go plate it can cost more than if I would have sat in the restaurant to eat. I don't feel that is right because the amount I carry out can be equal or less than what I would eat in the restaurant. Overall though, service is great and food is delicious. This is one of the top places for good catfish.

🤮👎🏿 totally disappointed ! In town from Houston and suggested that they take me back to where we ate the last time I was in town. A/C turned to like 78* we sweated the whole time we ate. The service was fair. Food 🤮. Fish fried too hard, chicken was fried in old grease and fried way too long. Red beans should not have even been put out to serve - no season at all ! Broccoli casserole was nasty and wet. I could go on and on. Then to top it off - they charge $7+ for kids 9 and under? We had 3 kids ages 2,2&1. That didn’t eat $7 total. Oh, I was told at the register that my service in the military serving this country didn’t mean nothing to them. WOW. 👌🏾 My apologize to my family cause they tried to tell me not to eat there😕

I have eaten here I know for over 20 years and have always pushed anyone I knew to go but no more... partially now because I am vegan, my tastes have changed a bit but the last 3 times I've been here the food has NOT been good. It's not properly seasoned and it's always over cooked. And the fillings for the deserts have a metallic taste. Maybe at some point if my stomach is forgiving I will give them another try. When or if that time comes, I hope the food and my opinion will be better.🤮👎

Hot buffet. Food was okay. First time eating there.

Food was delicious and the customer service was on point. It was very busy, had to wait about 30 minutes but it was well worth it. Definitely will be going back, our party of 10 was very much satisfied.

We were able to be seated right away, which was lucky for a Sunday. Food was very good and we didn't feel rushed.

The food was really good

Great southern cooking. Stewed cabbage was phenomenal. Fried green tomatoes were delicious beyond description. Sweet tea the way it was intended. Our waitress kept our glasses full and the empty plates cleared.

Food and service was very good! Place very clean. Even though a tour bus let out at the front door ahead of us, we were still seated in a timely manner and able to get our plates. Catfish was excellent and the bread pudding was, too!

So many places to go in Jackson for authentic Southern food in a friendly atmosphere. This is one of the best yet. Incredible selection of main course items that you may not get to the dessert. My mom was there with us so I didn't say anything about to the food being as good as she used to make. It was :)

My group of 35 had planned to stop at national chain buffet restaurant. We called ahead for service. When we arrived we found out that it would be and extended wait for a group of hungry individuals. We decided to leave. We went to another national country store/restaurant. Another extended wait. Two ladies were standing near the entrance. I asked them for a recommendation of a buffet restaurant for a large group. They both quickly agreed on the Country Fisherman on Highway 80 in Jackson (MS). We got back on our bus, I called ahead and told them we were 15 minutes away and wanted to know if they could accommodate us. The receptionist immediately told us yes they could.

I just don't like how the desserts are place on the shelf. People are reaching over the desserts.

The food was very delicious! There was a wide selection. Everything was hot and fresh.

Have not been here since I graduated from college in 2006. The food is still awesome and amazing.

I absolutely love this place. When my hosts brought me here for the first time, I fell in love. Super busy!!! The staff is very attentive and the food tastes soooo good! Great southern cuisines that I grew up with. No complaints here. We drove around looking for someplace to eat lunch and found this gem of a place. It was a buffet which had several types of food, chicken, fish, BBQ and so much more. The waitress was excellent and very friendly.

Hands down everything was good it my wife and i was pleased. It was me and my wife Anniversary! We starting out Saturday celebrating at a restaurant but me and my wife wasnt pleased with the food glad we at here Sunday!

This place is one of my favorite restaurants to eat at. The Staff is always pleasant and kind, and the crab leg special is the best. My husband and I have never been disappointed. The food is excellent, and the staff is very customer friendly.

Don’t talk to me when I am at this place. I am busy trying all of the many vegetables that taste like the ones Grandma makes. Go early. Take your time. And put their homemade barbecue sauce on everything!

The Country Fisherman restaurant has great food and excellent serve. They have the most courteous waiters and waitress. Hats off to the cashier!

Just leaving here with my family, food is great and the service was EXCELLENT. From being greeted at the door to our server everything was perfect. If you come eat be sure to ask for Jaquel (I think that's how you spell his name) but he was the best server ever!.
